Reception was wonderful. The downtown is within 10 minutes' walk. Minerva Restaurante, where you can eat, is walking distance to the hotel. We were moved to a premium queen room and had a private safe, television and a work desk.

The direct proximity to the beach.
Unfortunately there was construction work directly on the terrace. The breakfast could be a little bit more extensive (possibly still several kinds of bread).

The hotel was right on the beach at the end of the main road. There were beautiful views of the castle and rocks on the coast. There was close proximity to town. The staff were relatively friendly. The hotel had wifi in certain public rooms and even on the beach BUT not in the bedrooms!??
The hotel was in need of repair and overall upkeep. There were stains everywhere, -- on the carpet, the overbedding, the walls. We came early in the season and we constantly heard the sound of hammering and sanding. The pool and hot tub were dirty. The breakfast very basic. The rooms smelled of wet cement. I was surprised this was rated 3 stars and that it is a Best Western! For this the room was overpriced.

The situation is excellent, right on the beach. The whole of Tossa is easily accessible from the hotel. To get to Tossa , a direct bus from estaccion nord in Barcelona , abt 1 hr 15 , cost +/- 11 e each way
The hotel looks tired, certain areas need a coat of paint and a good clean ;also some of the facilites did not work; Engish language tv, the internet connection was fixed on the last day , the poolside showers needed attention; many of the flower pots had old or dead plants. Despite this a very enjoyable stay. On a hot day the walk to the bus station with suit cases can be sweaty and the taxi fare is exagerated in relation to the distance. I asked the hotel to advise on the easiest way to get there from Barcelona. I did not get a reply. The in-room tea/coffee service is not replenished without a special request.

The hotel is very pleasant--the room and public areas were clean and bright. The location is great--right at the end of a very nice beach, with a great view of the Vila Vela, the castle at the other end of the beach.

The water was exceptional.... The town of Tossa Del Mar was a pleasure with all a tourist could want without being over crowded.....
Only problem was service at the restaurant when one of our meals was served under cooked and the reheating was a long wait. The beach which was a bit stoney for our soft feet....

I like : The hotel has a good location, The hotel has a nice dinner, also the hotel has a nice cleaning of the room.
I don't like : Breakfast was frugal, the swimming pool and sauna were dirty, 5 days before departure we asked the staff on the reception to recount our check because of the changing departure data ( 1 day less): they said "Yes!" But on the departure day they counted one day more.

We had a nice sea view, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. Also the private parking was a good thing.
We had a room which obviously was used by smokers, it smelled really bad. The room was outdated and was not worth the money.

The location of course is fabulous. I also really liked the size of the hotel. I didn't feel like I was part of the crazy tourist noise. I would recommend it to others
